e-shape (short for EuroGEO Showcases: Applications powered by Europe) is a unique initiative aiming at moving away from a data-driven to a user-focused approach by gathering the knowledge of decades of public investment in the field of Earth Observation (EO) and cloud capabilities. e-shape gathers seven thematic activities called "Showcases" which are: agriculture, health, energy, ecosystem, water, disasters and climate. This page is an outcome of a pilot from the health Showcase. Further information on e-shape can be found here and here.
A Metropolitan Region is a network of cities and counties gathered to meet challenges regarding social, economic and cultural development, while providing access to European and international levels and letting its surrounding benefit from its connections. Munich Metropolitan Region (MMR) is at the centre of Europe and covers a surface almost as big as Belgium, networking 6 Bavarian cities and 27 counties. About 6 million people live in MMR, combining a dynamic population growth with economic dynamism and attrative living space near the Alps. Further information on MMR can be found here.
